How does alerting work on StepBridge?
You always alert your own bids and give the explanation privately to your opponents. Your partner cannot see your alert or explanation, so no unauthorized information is transmitted. In Audio-Video sessions alerts are given verbally, as in face-to-face bridge. Read more
How does time registration work in tournaments?
The computer measures how much thinking time each player uses on a board, but not everything counts. At the start of a board, when the dummy comes down, after a claim and when alerting, the timer briefly stops; only time beyond that free time is recorded. Read more
What happens to the score when time runs out?
If a board can no longer be dealt, the pair that used the least time in the round gets 60% (+3 IMPs) and the other pair 40% (–3 IMPs). If the board was dealt but not completed, only the time spent on that board counts. The tournament director raises a 60% score if the pair would have done better with normal play. Read more
